What are we all about?
The mission of Sioux City Baptist Church is to honor God and help people by going across the street and around the world with the Gospel. Everything we do flows out of that mission. We seek to honor God by participating in meaningful, biblical worship services and engaging Bible classes. We seek to help people through our outreach ministries to our local community and mission efforts around the world.
What religious group are we a part of?
Sioux City Baptist Church is not affiliated with, or under the authority of, any denominational organization. Instead, the Bible is our sole and final authority for all of our decisions regarding belief and practice.
What should I expect when I visit?
At Sioux City Baptist Church, we are thrilled to have guests visit. As soon as you walk through the doors, we believe you will find what so many people love about Sioux City Baptist Church - a down-to-earth and genuinely friendly atmosphere. We will usually begin every service by making sure that each guest receives an information packet about our church. During the services themselves you can expect to enjoy clear God-honoring music and fervent practical preaching.
How should I dress?
Sioux City Baptist Church has no dress code for members or guests. We will be delighted to have you as our guest and are happy to receive you however you may be dressed. Our ministry leaders and many of our Church family dress in more traditional "Sunday attire"; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Sioux City Baptist Church!
Am I expected to participate in the offering?
No. We don't invite you to Sioux City Baptist Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a family of friends, truth from God's Word, and a place where you can grow in God's grace. As our guest, please do not feel any obligation to participate in the offering.

Due to Covid-19 we are not currently having Sunday School. We are seeking God's direction to safely resume these ministries.
Quentin G. Vaughn grew up in south central Indiana and began attending Lickspring Baptist church. He was saved at the age of 15. It was not long after that, God began to burden his heart about the need of others and he surrendered his life to God. After high school, he enrolled at Fellowship Baptist College. During the summer following that first year, he met his future wife, Debbie. After graduation from college, they were married in June, 1985. The Vaughns served on staff at Averyville Baptist Church and Fellowship Baptist College in East Peoria, IL until 1990. They moved to Saint Joseph, MO in July 1991 to serve for 27 years as the assistant pastor at Bible Baptist Temple. On October 24, 2017, Brother Vaughn accepted the call to Sioux City Baptist Church as their new pastor.
I am glad that we will reopen Sioux City Baptist Church for live services beginning Sunday Morning, May 24th at 10:45 am. There are lessons we have learned through this that will go with us the remainder of our lives.
We will take a step-by-step and soft opening approach to help ensure the health and safety of our congregation and guests as we reassemble. Obviously we are not "out of the woods" yet regarding COVID-19. It is my prayer that the following timeline and plan will help us to get back to regular services at Sioux City Baptist.
Beginning Sunday, May 24, 2020
We recommend the following safety practices and protocols to curb the potential spread for the virus:
Thank you in advance for your cooperation in these matters. I know all of us would prefer to "jump back" into services as normal, but these are unusual times. We are taking a step in the right direction! I look forward to seeing you in person!
For His Name,
Pastor Quentin Vaughn
"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27
"Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you." I Peter 5:7
Let's pray for each other and look for ways to show the love of Christ. Perhaps we can help a neighbor get groceries or medicines. An encourging note or phone call is another great way to be a blessing. Most of all, let's look for ways to share the Prince of Peace with our families, friends and those we encounter that are seeking for some peace during this troubled time.
Pastor and Bro Lund would be happy to help you in any way they can. Feel free to call the Church or contact them through the email portal on our webpage.
